Directions to Career Advancement Resources
CAR is located at 129 Portland Street on the third floor in Downtown Boston in the Bullfinch Triangle/North Station area. It is easily accessible by the MBTA Orange, Green, or Blue Lines, and the North Station stop on the Commuter Rail. It is strongly recommended that visitors take public transportation, as parking is either very difficult to find or very expensive. Following are directions...
By Orange Line or Green lines to North Station: Take the Orange Line or Green line to the North Station T stop. Take the exit towards Canal Street and cross over Canal Street onto Valenti Way at the Bank of America. Cross over Friend Street and the entrance is in the first building on the left hand side of the street with glass sliding doors. The 129 Portland Street signage is on the wall inside the lobby.
Blue Line to Government Center: Take the Blue line to Government Center Station. Get on an outbound Green (North Station) train and get off at North Station. Follow directions above.
By Commuter Rail: Take any Commuter Rail line that ends at North Station. Walk out of the station to Causeway Street. Cross the street at Halftime Pizza (Causeway at Friend Street). Proceed down Friend Street past parking lot on the right. At corner of Valenti Way, take a right and the entrance is immediately on your left.
Should you choose to drive:
From the West : Take the Mass Pike (Exit 18-Brighton/Cambridge) to Storrow Drive. From Storrow, go to the end, stay to the right and take the Martha Road/North Station exit towards the TD Banknorth Garden. At the second set of lights take a left onto Causeway Street. Take a right onto Friend. Building is on corner of Friend and Valenti.
From the North: Take I-93 South towards Storrow Drive / North Station & get off at exit 26, bear right at the fork in the ramp, turn right toward North Station, then turn left onto Martha Road, turn left onto Causeway Street and then turn right onto Friend Street. Building is on corner of Friend and Valenti.
From the South: Take I-93 North toward Boston, Then take exit 23 toward Government Center, take the North End ramp toward Charlestown, turn left onto Cross Street, make slight right hand turn onto North Washington Street, turn left onto Medford Street, turn left onto Causeway Street & turn left onto Friend Street.

You can park on the surrounding streets at a meter or in a lot across from 225 Friend. (note: this parking lot is $22/day)
